About Car Boot Directory

Car Boot Directory is an independent directory of car boot sales across the UK. It is published and maintained by Akash Bhati, its founder and editor, and is not affiliated with any sale organiser.

How it started

Car Boot Directory started as a personal list of local sales kept by its founder, who was fed up with turning up to fields that had been rained off, cancelled or moved. The aim was one reliable place to check before setting off.

Today the directory lists hundreds of sales across the country, organised by region, category and the day they run. Every listing aims to give you the essentials at a glance: where it is, when it opens, the entry fee, the seller pitch price and what other visitors thought.

How listings are researched

Each listing is built from sources we can point to, never from memory or hearsay:

• the organiser's own website and social pages
• council, market and venue pages, where a sale runs on public or hired land
• correction reports and reviews sent in by visitors, which are checked against one of the sources above before anything changes

Every change to a listing is recorded with its source and the date it was checked. Listings are rechecked on a rolling basis, and each one shows a "Confirmed" stamp with the date and the type of source used for the last check. Where no organiser, council or venue source could be found, the listing carries an "Unverified" tag instead so you know to check before travelling. Dates that come from a sale's regular weekly or fortnightly pattern are labelled "expected"; only dates the organiser has published are labelled "confirmed". Who runs this site

Corrections and contact

If a sale has moved, changed its times or fees, paused or closed, use the "Help us improve this listing" form on its page, or contact us. Corrections are checked against a source and the listing is updated with the date of the check. If you run a car boot sale, you can add it to the directory for free.
