Cornwall's main organiser, Car Boots Cornwall, has run sales since 1989 and now operates four sites, all with afternoon openings rather than dawn starts: Truro Cattle Market on Sundays and bank holiday Mondays from noon, St Columb Major from 2pm on the same days, Newquay's Chapel Farm on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon, and Mitchell on Saturdays. Sellers queue from about 9.30am to 12.30pm, entry is £1 for adults with children free, and pitches start at £8 for a small car.
Rosudgeon on the Helston Road out of Penzance is the west Cornwall midweek sale, every Wednesday from the end of March to October half-term with free entry and parking, and a Stratton sale near Bude appears in local results for the north coast. The organisers publish an on or off status before each sale because sites are weather and ground dependent, so check the morning of your visit. Pitch prices here are among the lowest in the country, with cars and small vans from £5 at Rosudgeon.
