We list 106 covered car boot sales with a roof over at least part of the site, every one with its day, opening times, entry fee and directions.
51 of the 106 sales listed run all year; 9 of the rest are inside a published season today. Each card shows which.
59 run on a Sunday, 51 on a Saturday and 17 during the week. 47% are free for buyers to enter. The biggest clusters are in the South West (15), Greater London (14) and the South East (14).
They keep going in the drizzle and run for more of the year than field sales. Gates usually open around 11am for buyers. Only confirmed facilities are listed, so a sale missing from this page may still have them; tell us and we will check.
A covered car boot sale means somewhere dry to browse: a farm shed, a market hall, a covered arena or a sale that spills from a building into the yard. Sellers keep their stock dry and buyers keep going when the drizzle sets in, which is why covered sales run for more of the year than field sales.
This page lists every sale with an indoor or partly covered venue. If you only want fully indoor halls, our indoor car boot sales page is stricter; this one also includes mixed sites where part of the boot fair is under a roof.
Field sales are the first thing to go in autumn. Most outdoor sites publish a season that ends between late September and the end of October, and the ground, not the organiser, usually decides the last few weeks. Sales held indoors or under a roof are not tied to that, which is why searches for indoor car boot sales climb every September and again in the new year.
51 sales of the 106 we list publish no closed season at all, so they are the ones to check between November and March. That is not a promise they will go ahead: indoor sales are still cancelled for events at the venue, staffing or low bookings, so check the organiser's page before setting off. Every card shows either All year or the date its season ends.
We also list 22 Christmas markets as a separate category. They are not car boot sales, so pitches are booked with the operator rather than paid at the gate, and they run for a few weeks only. They are marked on their cards so you can tell them apart at a glance.

Not quite. Indoor sales are entirely inside a hall or warehouse. Covered sales include those, plus mixed sites with a roofed area alongside outdoor pitches. Both run in wet weather; check the listing for how much of the site is under cover.
Many do, especially those in market halls and farm buildings. Most field sales close between late September and the end of October and return in the spring, so covered sales are the best bet for winter bargain hunting.
We list 106 covered car boot sales, each with its day, opening times, entry fee and directions. Only confirmed facilities are shown, so tell us if a sale is missing.
Enter your postcode in the search above and we sort every one of the 106 by distance from you.
Most open to buyers between 11am and 1pm and wind down by early afternoon. The earliest opens to buyers at 6am. Sellers usually arrive an hour earlier to set up. Every listing shows the opening times for buyers and sellers.
50 of the 106 sales listed on this page are free for buyers. The 40 that charge ask 20p to £10 per adult, typically £2.25. Use the entry filter to show free sales only. Sellers typically pay £10 a pitch, more for a van or trailer; the exact price is on each listing.
