Chester Christmas Market is set around Town Hall Square on Northgate Street, with the Town Hall and Chester Cathedral as its backdrop, inside the city's Roman walls and a short walk from the Rows. Its wooden huts sell bespoke crafts, gifts, food and drink, and a Christmas Market Bar hosts live musicians on selected evenings. It is organised in collaboration with Marketing Chester and Cheshire West and Chester Council.

In 2026 the market is open every day from Wednesday 18 November to Tuesday 22 December. It opens at 10.30am daily and closes at 6.30pm from Sunday to Wednesday and at 8pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The market is in the open square with no tickets needed. Drinks are served in reusable Chester Christmas Market mugs instead of single-use cups. Chester station is within walking distance of the square.
