Edinburgh's Christmas Market fills East Princes Street Gardens, below the Old Town and Edinburgh Castle, as the centrepiece of Edinburgh's Christmas. Decorated chalets sell gifts, decorations, mulled wine and festive food, and the market is home to the LNER Big Wheel and the 80-metre Around the World Star Flyer. In 2026 it runs from Saturday 14 November to Sunday 3 January 2027 and is open every day except Christmas Day.
The market is open from 10am to 10pm on most days. The exceptions are Tuesday 17 November (4pm to 10pm), Christmas Eve (10am to 8pm), Boxing Day (noon to 8pm), Hogmanay (10am to 5pm), New Year's Day (noon to 8pm) and the final day, 3 January (10am to 6pm). Entry to the market is free; the Big Wheel, Star Flyer and Santa's Stories are ticketed separately. The gardens are a short walk from Edinburgh Waverley station and the Princes Street trams.
