The A47 Carboot Sale is a large outdoor car boot held on grass at Desford Rd, Leicester (LE9 9JE), in the East Midlands. It runs every Sunday from March through to October, just outside Leicester city centre, drawing around 100 stalls each week.
Gates open from 6:00 AM for both sellers and buyers, and the sale winds down around 1:30 PM. Buyer entry is £1 per car. Seller pitches start at £7 for cars, with small vans £10, medium vans £12, large vans £15, and trailers from £2 to £4. No bookings are required — just turn up on the day. Tables can be hired for £5 per day.
Expect a busy grass field with a strong mix of household goods, collectables and bargains. On-site amenities include parking, toilets and refreshments, and dogs are allowed. Organisers ask that you take all rubbish and unsold items home and respect the countryside.
