Measham Car Boot Sale is one of the longest-running boot sales in the East Midlands, held on a grass field at Bosworth Road in the village of Measham, DE12 7HA. It runs every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from March through to December, weather permitting, and has been a local fixture since the early 1980s.
Gates open at 6:30 AM for both sellers and buyers, and the sale stays busy until 1:00 PM. Entry is free for buyers. Sellers pay £7 for a car, £10 for a small van and £12 for a large van, with trailers from £3 (small) to £5 (large). Just turn up and pay on the day — setup is flexible any time between 6:30 AM and 9:30 AM.
With around 100 stalls, there is plenty to rummage through, from genuine household clearouts and bargains to essentials and bric-a-brac. On-site parking, toilets and hot and cold refreshments keep the morning comfortable. Note that during January and February the sale moves indoors to The Pingle Academy, Burton Road, Woodville, Swadlincote, DE11 7JR.
