About this car boot sale
A Sunday part-covered car boot sale in Skipsea, Yorkshire, with its dates, times, prices and facilities below.
Skirlington Market is a long-established Sunday market and car boot sale on Hornsea Road at Skipsea, on the East Yorkshire coast between Hornsea and Bridlington. The indoor and outdoor market runs from 9am to 3pm with hundreds of stalls selling fresh produce, food, clothing and homeware, while the separate car boot field a short walk past the pond opens from 6am to 1pm and is strictly second-hand goods only on a Sunday. Buyers pay 50p per adult with under-16s free, and parking is free, including a dedicated coach park. Sellers need not book: pitches are all hard standing, arrival is between 6am and 9am, and prices are £10 for a car, £12 for a car and trailer, £14 for a van and £5 for a feeder car. There are toilets, cafes and food outlets, accessible facilities, children's rides and dogs on leads are welcome. The market runs every Sunday except during January, and the Bridlington to Hornsea X30/130 bus stops at the site.
The market's last day at its current Skirlington site is Sunday 25 October 2026; the organisers plan to reopen at a new location in spring 2027 (source: skirlingtonmarket.com). The closure follows East Riding councillors approving plans to redevelop the land for holiday park and leisure facilities, reported by BBC News in July and August 2026. The final Sunday will be marked with the market's Spooky Sunday event, celebrating 40 years at the site. Details confirmed on the organiser's website, September 2026.
